Sometime last week, I was having a great morning.. checking my messages, Facebook, Twitter, name all of it. Moving onto my Instagram, I see a favorite male celebrity of mine had updated and posted an amazingly beautiful picture and being a loyal fan that I am, I go on to comment 😁. Minutes later I see I got a mention from a “white racist” telling me and other fellow blacks he could find on the comment feed to go and die. Yup That’s right.. no jokes even. He goes on to say “now that slavery is over I can go back to my country” . And I’m just like What The Heck?? This was a good morning uno, Lol and now I still can’t fathom Why there are white racists? Someone please shed some light on the whole idea behind that cause it doesn’t make any type of sense to me. Simply put, ADDONGERRIT!!!😳😳 . After all of that here’s what I have to say:

Let me say before I begin,
I am BLACK and PROUD!
I am vowed,
Ain’t tryna be mixed race,
It sounds cool though.
Neither am I trying to be white,
To be who you are,
Certainly i didn’t just decide out of the blues to hop on a plane and invade your country.
Don’t get all racist because I am not like you,
Its never that deep uno.
I’m merely saying what I think,
So get in the queue or fall out.
No I’m not joking,
I’m not writing this for fun because one I’m not much of a writer,
I’m simply saying what matters.
You think I’m pained? No I’m not,
Check your mentality.
DON’T call me a nigger,
I WON’T call you Pale.
It’s as easy as it gets.
God choose to make me this way,
So LABEL ME #BlackAndProud!!
My morning still went great because uno, “Ain’t nobody got any types of time for that” . But hey, this is what my voice is saying!

In my humble opinion, racism is caused by ignorance and cowardice; hiding behind white hoods, the anonymity of the internet and gangs that swarm any vulnerable minority, for no reason. For sure, I felt like I needed too.
I went to a private Christian high school that was very “color-blind”. I always thought racism was in the past, until I went to college down in Virginia. Although I didn’t experience racism through my college, one of my roommates and best friends was black, and really from hearing her story did I realize how much our country still had to go.
There were times we had to confront racism together, and there were times were we had to deal with issues between ourselves.
I didn’t even realize that my parents weren’t supportive of me dating black men until college (they’re not “white men are supreme” racist, they were worried their grand kids would get made fun of being mixed or have identity problems).
It made me realize that our country had so much more progress to make, and it truly saddens me. However, I think the more time goes by I think the better it will get. I mean, look how fast and furious the gay movement has been the last ten years. They’ve made incredible progress in a short amount of time.
I think 50 years from now it will almost look like a different country.

It’s heart breaking! Racism still exist today…it’s so sad…we all people are the same..we all have same colour blood! Wow. That is so sad to hear. Some people will always find someone else to point fingers at or push down to make themselves feel better about who they are. Hate and prejudice has always existed and its unfortunate when you find yourself being the one whose finger is pointed at. I’m so glad that you are are a strong woman of God who believes what God says about you over an ignorant and judgmental person’s opinion! You and no-one else in this world deserves such harshness. Very strong post, clearly a very strong individual. I must agree with Dennis, racialism is ignorance, always has been, always will be. Funny thing, I live in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa and always thought race was a South Africa problem but in my travels realized its raw and alive, and maybe worse in a sense, in so many other countries. I’m a third culture kid–meaning I’m part of multiple cultures but don’t really “fit” in any of them. Primarily I see Mexico as my home, and I am fairly comfortable in white middle-class America, but I have African American roots. I’m black but I don’t fit in with the black people or the white people or the latino people. It can get lonely, but this is what I’ve learned: people are people. We all feel pain, joy, love, fear. I wish the whole world could figure that out–that we all have sons and daughters and mothers and fathers and brothers and sisters….. We’re really not as different as we think. We all bleed red when we’re cut, and we all die when we’re stabbed too deep. Sometimes the only knife you need to kill someone’s hope is a few harsh words.

The internet is such a double edged sword… on the one hand, we have to deal with every ignorant jerk who crawls out from under their rock to share their hateful thoughts with the world. On the other hand, at least they are exposing themselves! Even with the anonymous ones (doesn’t it say something if you can’t put your own face and name behind your words?), I like to think that seeing so much hate will just rally the rest of us to love each other more.

Hey, Toluwalade. One of my favorite authors / sages is Thich Nhat Hanh, a Buddhist monk. I believe he would say that racists’ irrational anger arises out of their own suffering. Basically, they suffer so much that they just puke it on innocent bystanders. Remembering that helps me personally to be peaceful. Of course, that’s easy for me to say. As a middle-aged white guy, not many people take out their pain on me. Sending good thoughts your way. John

Great and empowered post. Too many people in this world are lost, and filled with fear and insecurity. It manifests as hate toward others. Awesome that you smashed hate with self-love 🙂
If i am not mistaken, however the young womans question was not who feels sad about racism, or who do we wish would shut-up, but why does racism exist.
Things that are sad are for example when a child drops its ice-cream cone, or skins its knee. That stated, there is nothing “sad” about racism. The scope, and longevity of this injustice so staggering, even the word “enraging” seems like a grain of sand thrown into a raging sea. So i will not condescend to the author by offering her my sympathy, and then possibly adding injury to insult by going back to business as usual. Which brings us to the question, “Why?”
My suspicion,… and i may be mistaken, but allow me to put my feeble insights forth so as the group may expand upon it if they like …
My suspicion is that there is nothing ignorant, or exceptional about racism at all … now wait before feigning scandalization … racism, and other forms of exclusion, are conscious, all-pervasive, and very necessary elements of the culture we choose to live. When large parts of the population are excluded from full access to power, it is easier for those who have access power to maintain power and resources for themselves. If it can be established an entire “type” of human being is by definition predestined not to have access to power, and you can maintain this aspect of culture over centuries, then you are guaranteeing power and prosperity for those who benefit from this aspect of culture for generations to come. The ideas is as simple as it is brilliant.
The most ingenious part of the plan, is that because it has been established that some are by very virtue of their birth predestined not to be a party to certain things the entire phenomenon becomes a viscous circle which perpetuates itself.
We all know intuitively what we are doing when we disenfranchise others and i wager to say we all do so in myriads of different ways. We are seeking to profit for their loss. This taken to the Nth degree is a system of oppression, which in as much as we do not actively combat it in our own actions, and our everyday lives we are all complicit with.
So we can say that racism is not the problem singular, pariahs lurking in the shadows, whom when we happen upon can be brushed off with a disapproving “Tsk-tsk”. We, and the very nature of our daily dealings are among other things racist, and it will remain that way until we decide to live otherwise.

I am sorry that you experienced this verbal assault. You are not the only one who has been wronged. White people who have compassion and intelligence have also been wronged because of being in the same sect as those who are racist.
This person must live in the midst of hate to be spewing out that much vile and unless he is Native American I think he may want to travel back to his country of origin also. Every one of us, except the Native Americans came from somewhere else.
Alive and well in India too….a very color conscious country. Africans are not respected. In some parts of the country people will leave others be, but sometimes there is harsh behavior. Any company , ANY, is cashing in on the need to be ‘fair’ by marketing fairness creams. It is a disgrace. You are a strong, proud and beautiful woman in your heart as well.
